01 · The Starting Point

Where the account kicked off

The first ranking export, taken on 1 May 2026, is the baseline every result in this case study is measured against. At that point Brisbane Skips already held two #1 rankings, proof the site could compete, but the bulk of the 25 tracked commercial terms sat on page two or further back.

The brief on day one

Two terms, "skip hire near me" and "skip bin hire near me", already sat at #1, proof the site could win the placements that matter. But the terms that cover the whole of Brisbane, "skip hire brisbane" at #13, "skip bin hire brisbane" at #18, "skip bin near me" at #22, were still well off the pace, and the account had no visibility at all for generic waste-removal search terms like "rubbish removal brisbane". That gap was the opportunity.

02 · The Campaign Timeline

Four months, one steady climb

Ranking exports on 1 May, 16 July and 31 August 2026 show the shape of the work: a solid opening, a consolidation period through the middle of the year while page and content work matured, and a breakout that has held through to the latest full-month report.

Reading the latest column

13 of the 25 tracked terms sit on page one, up from 8 in May, and 9 sit in the top 3, up from 7. Worth flagging honestly: the number of outright #1s eased back to 2 this period, as several terms that briefly held #1 (skip bin prices brisbane, how much does a skip bin cost brisbane, skip bin hire near me) settled one place lower at #2. In practice that is a rounding error in visibility, five of the tracked terms are now sitting at position 2 alone, a wall of results one click from the top spot, and it does not change the traffic story below, which is the best of the campaign.

Another one from the watch list has turned itself around

Last update we flagged "walk in skip bin brisbane" as the campaign's steepest decline, all the way out to #45. One week later it is back at #15, its best position of the entire campaign and ahead of where it started in May. It is a good reminder that individual long-tail terms can swing hard between snapshots; the trend across the whole set of 25 is what matters, and that trend keeps pointing up.

Still on our radar

Not every term moves forward every month, and that is worth being upfront about. These are the four terms we are watching most closely heading into next month.

skip hire brisbane
The sharpest single-week move of the whole campaign. It was sitting at #2 as recently as 24 August. Still matched to the homepage, so this looks like normal fluctuation rather than a technical issue, but it is the top priority to check next.
−16
24 Aug → 31 Aug
skip bins with doors brisbane
A steady slide from page two to page four since May. Smaller search volume, but worth a content refresh while other priorities land.
−16
#21 → #37
brisbane skip bins
Held a rock-steady #2 through May, July and mid-August, then eased to #8 the following week. It has partly recovered to #4 in the latest report, still on page one, worth keeping an eye on.
−2
#2 → #4
same day skip bin hire brisbane
Still on page one and a high-intent term, but has slipped out of the top 3. Worth defending given how directly it maps to a booking.
−4
#3 → #7

Where the wins are landing

"skip hire near me" and "skip bin hire brisbane prices" hold outright #1, and a further five terms sit at #2, "skip bin cost brisbane", "skip bin prices brisbane", "skip bin near me", "skip bin hire near me" and "how much does a skip bin cost brisbane", all one place off the top. 13 of the 25 tracked terms sit on page one, up from 8 in May, and the homepage and pricing page between them are carrying almost every one of those rankings.

04 · Search Traffic & Local Visibility

The strongest month yet, by every measure

This is the update to lead with traffic and local visibility. Every headline number across both organic search and the Google Business Profile has climbed again this period, and several have climbed hard.

Every traffic number, a new record

The 1–31 August window is the best the campaign has produced on every single measure. New users hit 217, the highest of any reporting window, well past the previous best of 161 in May. Sessions reached 269 and organic page views reached 641, both new campaign highs by a wide margin. Engagement rate hit 74.72%, a new high for the third reporting period running (69.8% to 71.5% to 74.72%), meaning visitors are not just arriving in bigger numbers, they are more engaged once they land. Organic search has been the dominant channel throughout, consistently delivering close to 80% of all new users in every single window since kickoff.

$

The pricing page keeps pulling buyer-intent traffic

"How Much Is It To Hire a Skip Bin Brisbane?", the pricing page, pulled 148 views and 116 active users this period, up again from 107 the period before, and still the second-most-visited page on the whole site, behind only the homepage. Someone searching for a skip bin price has already decided they want one and is comparing costs before they call or book, and it is exactly the page that most of Brisbane Skips' top rankings point traffic towards.

Google Business Profile, since optimisation

Google Business Profile reporting started in July, and every single time we have checked back the numbers have accelerated further. This is the strongest movement anywhere in this case study, and it keeps getting stronger.

Local exposure is compounding, month on month

Since the Google Business Profile was optimised, every single metric has kept climbing, and the rate of growth is accelerating rather than levelling off. Profile views are up 87%, on top of an already-strong prior period. Website clicks from the listing are up 48%. Total interactions are up 70%. And phone calls generated directly from the profile are up 300%, from 2 calls in the equivalent period to 8 now, the highest call volume of the campaign. For a local trades business, that is a real, ringing-phone return on the optimisation work, not just a visibility metric.
