01 · The Starting Point

Where the account kicked off

The first ranking export, taken on 1 May 2026, is the baseline every result in this case study is measured against. At that point Brisbane Skips already held two #1 rankings, proof the site could compete, but the bulk of the 25 tracked commercial terms sat on page two or further back.

The brief on day one

Two terms, "skip hire near me" and "skip bin hire near me", already sat at #1, proof the site could win the placements that matter. But the terms that cover the whole of Brisbane, "skip hire brisbane" at #13, "skip bin hire brisbane" at #18, "skip bin near me" at #22, were still well off the pace, and the account had no visibility at all for generic waste-removal search terms like "rubbish removal brisbane". That gap was the opportunity.

02 · The Campaign Timeline

Three months, one steady climb

Ranking exports on 1 May, 16 July and 24 August 2026 show the shape of the work: a solid opening, a consolidation period through the middle of the year while page and content work matured, and a clear breakout that has kept building into the most recent report.

Reading the middle column, and what happened next

The July snapshot looks flat against May at a glance, still 8 terms on page one, but that reflects the account holding position while several page-two terms were being reworked. Those changes matured fast: page-one terms climbed from 8 to 14, and #1 rankings more than doubled, from 2 to 5, and the momentum has not slowed down since. If anything, the gap between where Brisbane Skips sits and where it started keeps widening every time we check back in.

One from the watch list already fixed itself

Last update we flagged "skip bin hire near me" as a concern: it held #1 in May and had slipped to #18 by mid-August. The 24 August export shows it back at #1, a full recovery. It is a good reminder that a single snapshot can look worse than the underlying trend, and it is now one of five terms leading the pack rather than one to chase.

Still on our radar

Not every term moves forward every month, and that is worth being upfront about. These are the four terms that have slipped since May and are now the priority list for the next sprint.

walk in skip bin brisbane
The largest decline on the board, though it has clawed back a little ground in the last week alone (was #45 on 18 August, now #41). Needs a fresh look at the target page.
−25
#16 → #41
skip bins with doors brisbane
A slow slide from page two to page four. Smaller search volume, but worth a content refresh while other priorities land.
−13
#21 → #34
brisbane skip bins
A new one to watch. This term held a rock-steady #2 through May, July and the 18 August report, then eased back to #8 in the latest export. Still page one, but worth keeping an eye on.
−6
#2 → #8
same day skip bin hire brisbane
Still on page one and a high-intent term, but has slipped out of the top 3. Worth defending given how directly it maps to a booking.

#3 → #8

Where the wins are landing

5 terms now rank #1: "skip hire near me", "skip bin prices brisbane", "how much does a skip bin cost brisbane", "skip bin hire near me" and "skip bin hire brisbane prices", all pointing to the homepage or the pricing page. 14 of the 25 tracked terms sit on page one, up from 8 in May. The next tier, the 6 terms sitting at positions 11 to 20, is the clearest near-term opportunity: each is one push away from page one.

04 · Search Traffic & Local Visibility

What the rankings are doing

Rankings matter because of what they bring in, and the most recent numbers are the best of the campaign. Two channels show the impact: organic website traffic from Google Analytics, and Google Business Profile, Brisbane Skips' local search presence.

The latest report is the strongest yet

Every headline traffic number has moved up in the most recent export. Sessions have hit a new campaign high of 207, ahead of even the May opening period. Organic page views have hit a new high of 506, also a new record. Engagement rate has hit a new high of 71.5%, the best of any window so far. And new users have rebounded to 160, within a single visitor of the May peak, after easing through the winter months. Organic search has been the dominant channel throughout, consistently delivering close to 80% of all new users in every single reporting window. This is a site pulling in more visitors, more engaged, than at any point in the campaign.

The pricing page is doing exactly what it should

"How Much Is It To Hire a Skip Bin Brisbane?", the pricing page, pulled 107 views and 86 active users in this period, the second-most-visited page on the whole site, behind only the homepage. That matters because of what it signals: nobody lands on a pricing page by accident. Someone searching for a skip bin price has already decided they want one and is comparing costs before they call or book. It is also exactly the page that 5 of Brisbane Skips' #1 rankings point traffic towards, "skip bin prices brisbane", "how much does a skip bin cost brisbane" and "skip bin hire brisbane prices" among them. The rankings are not just winning visibility, they are winning the right kind of visibility.

Google Business Profile, since optimisation

Google Business Profile reporting started in the July window, and every time we have checked back the numbers have accelerated further. In the most recent 24-day window, growth has been the strongest movement anywhere in this case study.

Local visibility is the standout of this update

Since the Google Business Profile was optimised, every single metric has moved in the right direction, and moved hard. Views are up 87%, website clicks from the profile are up 42%, total interactions are up 62%, and phone calls generated directly from the listing are up 250%. For a local trades business, a ringing phone is the clearest return on investment there is, and that number has gone from a trickle to a genuine lead source in a matter of weeks.
