Three ranking exports across the campaign, 1 May, 16 July and 18 August 2026, tracking the same 25 core skip-hire search terms for brisbaneskips.com on Google Australia. Below: where the account kicked off, how the middle of the campaign played out, where it sits right now, and what that has meant for search traffic and local visibility.
The first ranking export, taken on 1 May 2026, is the baseline every result in this case study is measured against. At that point Brisbane Skips already held two #1 rankings, proof the site could compete, but the bulk of the 25 tracked commercial terms sat on page two or further back.
Two terms, "skip hire near me" and "skip bin hire near me", already sat at #1, proof the site could win the placements that matter. But the terms that cover the whole of Brisbane, "skip hire brisbane" at #13, "skip bin hire brisbane" at #18, "skip bin near me" at #22, were still well off the pace, and the account had no visibility at all for generic waste-removal search terms like "rubbish removal brisbane". That gap was the opportunity.
Three ranking exports across the campaign show the shape of the work: a solid opening, a consolidation period through the middle of the year while page and content work matured, and a clear breakout in the most recent report.
| Metric | 18 May 2026 | 16 Jul 2026 | 18 Aug 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terms ranking #1 | 2 | 2 | 5 |
| Terms in the top 3 | 7 | 6 | 10 |
| Terms on page one (top 10) | 8 | 8 | 13 |
| Terms on page two (11–20) | 12 | 5 | 5 |
| Terms not ranking (101+) | 3 | 3 | 3 |
The July snapshot looks flat against May at a glance, still 8 terms on page one, but that reflects the account holding position while several page-two terms were being reworked. Those changes matured over the following month: page-one terms jumped from 8 to 13, and #1 rankings more than doubled, from 2 to 5, by the August report.
The six terms that moved the furthest across the campaign. Each is measured in positions gained from the first export to the most recent one.
Not every term moved forward, and that is worth being upfront about. Four terms have slipped since May. These are now the priority list for the next sprint.
As of the 18 August 2026 report, this is the full spread of the 25 tracked terms.
5 terms now rank #1: "skip bin cost brisbane", "skip hire near me", "skip bin prices brisbane", "how much does a skip bin cost brisbane" and "skip bin hire brisbane prices", all pointing to the homepage or the pricing page. 13 of the 25 tracked terms sit on page one, up from 8 in May. The next tier, the 5 terms sitting at positions 11 to 20, is the clearest near-term opportunity: each is one push away from page one.
Rankings matter because of what they bring in. Two channels show the impact: organic website traffic from Google Analytics, and Google Business Profile, Brisbane Skips' local search presence.
| Organic search (GA4) | 1–18 May | 1–16 Jul | 1–18 Aug |
|---|---|---|---|
| New users | 161 | 128 | 115 |
| Sessions | 203 | 172 | 149 |
| Engagement rate | 69.46% | 69.77% | 69.8% |
| Share of all new users | 80.5% | 79.0% | 78.8% |
Organic search has been the dominant channel in every single reporting window, consistently delivering close to 80% of all new users to the site, with an engagement rate that has held rock-steady at around 70% throughout. Overall visit volumes have eased across the reporting period, in line with the usual winter slowdown in renovation and clean-up activity, but the ranking gains above mean Brisbane Skips is positioned to capture a larger share of demand as that activity lifts.
Google Business Profile reporting started in the July window. Growth between the July and August reports has been the strongest movement anywhere in this case study.
